Etsy is known for its selection of art supplies and art products which are often handmade and are custom-ordered. This doesn’t mean that there are no digital products available on the site. Whether its a picture of a handwritten custom message in the sand, a hand-drawn doodle, or digital clipart vectors, you’ll find a lot of digital products in the site. These products are often self-taught, idea-centered, and thus with free (or very low set up) startup cost.
All you ever need is to have spare time and the right skill. But people come to me with a thousand questions on how to deal with Etsy in terms of competition, especially among digital products.
As a person who has dabbled in Etsy before: the administrative part is hard. Etsy SEO is hard. Figuring out the details of Etsy rules and terms (legalities!) was annoying.
This is why I think – to be truly competitive on Etsy these days in the digital download world – all entrepreneurs should check out Gold City Venture’s Etsy Printable course.
I started selling on Etsy (for fun, 4 years ago) after I found something that wasn’t oversaturated in the market at the time. MY product was great (these were based off the numerous wonderful reviews I received on Etsy). Despite having lower sales than I expected because I didn’t work on the business side of Etsy.
My 6 month part time forraying attempt into Etsy was so novice – pure amateur. At that I time, I didn’t there were online courses on Etsy, I wish I did.
Do you know what I actually did? I quit! A wee little too soon. Instead of pursuing a very GOOD and clever Etsy idea, I closed up shop after less than 1 year without the guidance I didn’t know I needed! Even though my store was gaining slow traction every day.
A fellow blogger, Cody from Fly To FI, contacted me just a few weeks ago regarding this Etsy course he co-created and I was hooked!
I basically told myself, “I don’t have the right ideas, I don’t have the confidence to do it, I don’t think I have the time to do it” etc. Wrong! The Etsy platform is big enough to make an investment into it, especially with the expertise of digital products taught in the Gold City Venture Etsy course.
2. Real Bird Feathers
Real feathers are hundred times way better than the synthetic ones available in the market. The synthetic one doesn’t have the softness and the distinct natural color of the real feathers. However, getting the product in a living animal is hard to swallow for a lot of people. This is not the case for Etsy shop FeathersAddict, which is owned by Etsy user Kristina. The shop sells cruelty-free feathers from their small farm in Latvia, where feather drops are common. A 36-pcs bundle of Royal Turkey feathers can be bought for $12.12.
