The most random name for an app award goes to…;)
I have been using and trying out the S’mores lock screen app. I decided to throw in an in-depth review after 2 months of testing. You can get +25 extra points with ref code 9H61NT.
So far I am actually impressed with how passive this app is to make money.
S’mores won’t make anyone rich but it is 100% passive. It’s a guaranteed $0.10 a day payout. Although it might be a low daily rate it is one of the most fuss-free, legit, and transparent.
Within my first month of installing S’mores, I forgot I even had the app. I checked back and saw that I had made $6.

What is S’mores?
S’mores is a simple lock screen app that lets users earn gift card perks for viewing S’mores ads. All smartphones have a lock screen so S’mores essentially inserts ads onto your phone lock screen.
Users will see these ads there whenever they wake up their phone. S’mores will let you earn money every day as long as it’s installed on your mobile device. Super easy!
Where Can I Download S’mores?
It is a fully ad-supported free app available on Android systems to all U.S. residents.
It’s an Android-only app because Apple phones do not currently allow third-party applications like S’mores to access the lock screen functionality.
If you are on an Android phone, you can download S’mores in the Google Play store.
Is S’mores App a Scam?
S’mores is not a scam. A typical scam requires giving others private or sensitive payment information or involvement of time, none of which this app requires.
S’mores currently holds a strong 4.1 rating in the Google Play store with thousands of reviewers. Point redemptions for me have been seamless since the app is quite straightforward.
Remember, S’mores ‘Terms of Service’ does not specify restrictions of multiple accounts per IP address but several S’mores users have reported bans from rule-bending actions like “phone farming.”
Holding multiple accounts is not encouraged and will likely boot those off the system.
How Much Can S’mores Make?
The S’more app allows users to make money in the form of popular gift cards.
The point system is simple, 1 point exchanges for 1 cent.
Example: 100 pts = $1.
Available gift cards are Amazon, AMC, Applebee’s, Best Buy, CVS, Domino’s Pizza, GameStop, Google Play, Starbucks and Target.
The S’more app rewards users with 10 points (= 10 cents) each day of usage as a lock screen. S’mores will squeeze in ads on your lock screen whenever you turn on the screen.
Ways to Earn More Money
You do not have to click or engage in any S’mores ads in order to be rewarded.
Just use your phone like normal and when you see an ad, swipe up like a normal lock screen and the ad will disappear.
S’mores Surveys:
S’mores also offer surveys but they are generally not worth your time. These are third-party surveys so your miles will vary.
Some surveys can disqualify you suddenly or kick you out towards the end. S’mores plays nice and gives users 1 point for surveys they were disqualified from so at least there’s that.
If you are looking for surveys worth doing I strongly recommend heading over to Survey Junkie to earn real money for surveys instead.
S’mores Videos:
Another way of racking up extra points is watching videos. S’mores used to line up 3 videos for users in exchange for 1 point. But now they line up just 2 videos.
2 videos x 30 seconds videos = 1 minute long = 1 point.
There used to be a limit on how many videos you can watch for points but not anymore.
If you run into a limit where “no video is available” just exit out of the app and re-enter again.
That has worked for me and removed the soft limit on how many videos I can watch. I have not encountered any hard limits on videos since and it’s a good way to rack up more pennies when bored.
S’more Referrals:
S’mores lets you give away 25 points for every user that signs up and you will get 25 points yourself. It isn’t groundbreaking nor is it the best way to earn (unless you know thousands of people).
How To Redeem Payout
Redeeming is super easy. Just tap “Redeem” for options.
S’mores can be redeemed for several popular gift card options but there are no “real” cash option like PayPal or check.
Here’s How it Breaks Down:
There is a 10 day minimum for
10 days x 10 cents per day = 100 points. You can get up to 75 points (50 pts for installing + 25 pts with referral bonus 9H61NT), you made 75 cents just for downloading the app!
S’more points WILL expire if you don’t redeem your points at least once every year.
S’mores points will also expire if you deactivate your phone for more than 30 days. It’s generally not an issue, who goes without a phone in this day and age?
My User Experience
By the end of my 10-day minimum, I had almost 400 points (I was testing out a video in the S’mores app) which gave my Amazon balance a few extra bucks with very little effort on my part.
Then I forgot about it for the rest of the month.
Upon checking again 20 days later, I realized I gathered 200 more points for a total of 600 points.
It is extremely easy to make anywhere between $3 to $6 a month with S’mores.
Keep the app updated (or put on auto-update), I was noticing phone lag and suspected S’mores when I realize it has not been updated. After the update, everything went back to running smoothly.
S’mores Pros:
- Completely passive way to earn extra income.
- Easy to understand interface for beginners.
- Does not drain battery like other apps.
- Only need an email to register.
- Low cashout minimum at just 100 points for an Amazon gift card ($1).
- Several ways to earn points (surveys, video, referrals, etc.)
- Legit company and payout.
S’mores Cons:
I know the list of cons look longer than the pros but these cons are pretty minor
- Limited to gift cards; no PayPal or direct deposit.
- S’mores points do expire after a year so remember to cash out.
- 30+ days of inactivity on S’mores means forfeiting your points.
- A small number of S’more users experienced battery drainage with the app. I personally have not noticed any impact on battery but your miles may vary.
- After the most recent update, I noticed my lock screen stuck on wake unless I turn it off manually. Once again, it depends largely on your phone so miles may vary.
- The surveys are often reported as not worth doing but that should not be a surprise. Most S’mores surveys out there are not worth doing compare to actual survey specific websites that specialize better surveys with higher payouts.
- S’mores
is only available to U.S. residents for now. - It is only available on Android. I will update with any new releases or changes to this rule for citizens.
Final Verdict
S’mores is definitely one of my favorite ways to make passive income. There is little known harsh downside to this fun little app. Like Rocco says, “just set it and forget it.”
If I happen to flush out extra points for movie preview videos, it’s still something super easy anyone can do while watching TV or walking dogs.
Anyone can make $3/month at least. I did an average of $5/month with S’mores. That is $60 dollars a year. My husband also has S’mores installed which doubles our earnings to $120 a year.
That’s $120 for doing absolutely nothing!
Where we live, $120 covers a nice dinner for 2 and holiday stocking stuffers for the family too.
Even though a few extra dollars a month is not going to make anyone rich, you can definitely buy yourself a little happy! ✨

Hi Connie, S’mores doesn’t allow cash out to PayPal and never has. The most popular option is Amazon gift card which is a 100 point minimum ($1).

They say you’ll get 300 points for sharing your cash out. That’s a lie.
I cash out 3 times a year, 1000 points each time.
I get a message, share this to Facebook for 300 points.
Nothing. Ever.

I was cashing out $10 every 2-3 weeks when I 1st got the app early 2019. I noticed the longer I used it (watching videos and taking surveys) the less and less they became available. I went from having enough points to cash out every 2-3 weeks to it taking almost 3 months to get enough to cash out. I asked on the s’more facebook page and sent emails with no response. I couldnt figure out how to deactivate the account so I finally deleted the app this morning. It wasn’t bad dealing with the ads on the home screen, but it wasnt worth it waiting 3 months to earn $10.

I rarely get my 10 points. It took over a month to get 100 points. I am uninstalling the app in just a few minutes. I have earned 30 points since November 7.

As of spring 2022, they are being extremely sneaking imo with expiring points. I watched all videos allowed (and then some for free accidentally) for over a month and had lockscreen points pending nearly every day. Apparently those pending lockscreen points never actually credited, and my points expired at 30 days even though I had cashed out a little over a week prior (still plenty of time for me to lose the points since then) and was watching videos /playing games each day. When pressed, customer service’s response was akin to –well, you just didn’t watch enough lockscreen ads as pending points don’t really matter. I never used to have this issue. If the lockscreen points pended, then they credited, no problem. I guess ripping off users is now their MO.
