SimpleBills is an all on one bill management system that allows its users to consolidate utility bills into one invoice. It is a good choice if you are the type of person who wants simplicity in managing your bills, a parent who would like to monitor and help your son or daughter’s bills, or a roommate who would like to make sure that the bill is split up accordingly to all its users.
This service is very easy to use, manage and understand. It is easy to set up the account and once you have it, it will definitely give you the kind of convenience that you need for an easy payment to your utility bills.
The company has been in business for 10 years. It currently holds a B grade on BBB (Better Business Bureau) and a customer review of 4.5 out of 5.

How SimpleBill Works:
With SimpleBills, you will never have to worry about missing to pay your utility bills on time or making sure that everyone in your dorm gets to pay their share for the utilities.
Sign up for a SimpleBills account and link all of the utility providers that you want to consolidate into one invoice.
If your new property uses SimpleBills already and requires tenants to use SimpleBills, you will never have to worry about set up fees required by the utility providers anymore, as wells as putting the bill under your name. It is all done for you.
Once your SimpleBills account is fully set-up, SimpleBills will be the one to collect your monthly billing statements from your utility providers and consolidate them into one bill.
You will be billed by SimpleBills once a month covering all of your utility bills. If you are leaving with roommates the bill will be split up accordingly. Each roommate will only have to pay a portion of the bill.
The phone app’s dashboard will then show a complete report that will show the actual utility usage, how the bill was split up, some tips on how to lessen the usage, and a whole lot more!
Once done checking, you can now pay your bill online using your preferred payment choice. (Note: everyone who has a SimpleBills account can link up your bank or credit card for easy and fast payment. However, once a bank account is linked, you can not remove it anymore unless you add a new payment option.)

Simple Bills Pros & Cons
SimpleBills started as a classroom project in Waco, Texas and then eventually became a legit business. They focus on organizing and managing utility bills for individuals or a group of individuals.
But just like with any other type of service, SimpleBills may or may not always be best for everyone.
To better guide you, here are some of the pros and cons that I have gathered from fellow user experiences.
The Pros:
One bill for all – this means you will never have to worry about multiple due dates for your different bills from different utility providers. SimpleBills will consolidate them all, and bill you on a single due date.
No more queues – paying your bills can sometimes be a tedious task especially to those who have a very hectic schedule. SimpleBills made it very easy for people to pay for their bills online by using their preferred payment option (debit card/credit card).
Bill splitting – if you are living with roommates, splitting the bills can always be a challenge. But with SimpleBills, the bill is split into the number of people who will share the bill, so everyone will just have to pay a portion of the bill and payment is done individually.
Simple & easy to understand dashboard – when you log in to your SimpleBills account, you will see an easy to understand dashboard that will show you the actual monthly usage/consumption of the utilities as well as some helpful tips on how to lessen the consumption for better savings. If you are living with roommates, the dashboard will also come very handy in showing how the bill is split up.
Simple & easy to understand bill statement – the SimpleBills billing statement comes with a complete list of your utility service providers and a link to the original copy of your billing statements from each provider. This will give you more information about the actual usage of your utilities with corresponding coverage dates.
Fast notifications – once your SimpleBills billing statement is ready, you will receive up to date notifications to make sure you will not miss paying your bills on time.
You can build your credit score with SimpleBills – having a good credit standing is one of the most ideal ways one should do at an early stage. A good credit standing will give you better offers and deals in the future once you start investing. With SimpleBills, building credit can be fast by turning on the credit reporting system to inform the Credit Bureaus your payment history/activities.
The Cons:
Now that I have enumerated some advantages of SimpleBills, here are a list of issues that I’ve seen constantly pop up. (This is from SimpleBills consumer reviews so it’s not just me.)
Take note that these opinions were sourced from the different experiences of different users so your own miles may vary. This is just my review of the systems.
I have no formal relationship with SimpleBills. But I feel it is worthy to share to better inform others who are considering this service.
Fees – Simple Bills charges a monthly fee of up to $5.00 per month per customer. While this may not be a lot, it is still a fee compare to the many completely free services out there (see Conclusion).
Overpayment – some people also say that billing is not as accurate and would sometimes be more than what you just really have to pay. While this issue can be resolved after talking to their customer service rep, requesting for a refund can just be a total hassle. SimpleBill charges service fees
System glitch – just like with any other computer-generated reports, people who are using SimpleBills can sometimes experience delays in billing statement generation which can result in the delinquency of payment.
Not so good reconciliation process – many people could attest that SimpleBills would always send out emails every month (given there are no system glitches) to provide billing statements. But they’re not as fast when giving out email correspondence to address customer complaints.
Beware of late payments – we all know that SimpleBills splits up the bill to all roommates. But what happens when someone does not pay on time? Well, that portion of the payment will be charged to all roommates regardless if you have already paid your portion already. This means, you still have to be very careful in choosing your roommate because SimpleBills will still charge you for uncollected bills from non-payers. This isn’t really SimpleBills fault – the bill MUST be paid by someone so the company has their hands tied.
Continuous billing – this is one of the major concerns of SimpleBills. SimpleBills, apparently, will still continue charging you even if you have already moved out of the property. This is probably due to their slow reporting system where your data is not removed at once or as soon as you moved out. However, this can be taken cared of after a number of calls to their customer service hotline.
Conclusion
SimpleBills, to begin with, is not a scam. It does work and can help you minimize a lot of work in terms of managing your bills. They have their share of tech and billing issues but they’re often resolved with a reach out.
It is also a decent service for people living with roommates for the separate billing system to each roommate is very helpful in order to inform everyone when a bill is due.
Other similar money and bill splitting servicers are Prism (free), Venmo (great to split bills), Splitwise (free and most popular), RentPayment, Divvy, and SettleUp.
Now with roommates, you never have to fight about money when there are loads of great free options available.

I don’t want to have to use this company. I have been through 2

I encourage everyone to look up BBB.org for 3 alerts and suspension. Also go to Compaintsboard.com. If a company charges you a recurring fee to pay utility bill, charges you a recurring fee to store your bank account to pay bill, charges you…. What would you think? Wait, I have not talked about how timely and accurate they “managed” the bill yet.
